"Singapore shines with world class music and arts" - Channel News Asia
Sweat, booze, good vibes and great music - whip it all together and you’ve got Peking Duk.
Confirmed legends Adam Hyde and Reuben Styles are Australia’s favourite duo. They’re the guys wearing matching tracksuits on the red carpet, the showmen going viral with their onstage antics, the everyday heroes bringing fans backstage for a beer and the hitmakers responsible for your favourite songs.
The Duk started their ascent in 2014 with ‘High,’ the gargantuan, four times platinum single that was the #1 most played track on triple j that year and #2 in the station’s Hottest 100 poll. ‘High’ even made Adam and Reuben ARIA winners, picking up the pointy prize for Best Dance Release.
It’s been hit after hit for Canberra’s favourite sons since then: their follow up single ‘Take Me Over’ went three times platinum, placed at #5 on the triple j Hottest 100 and climbed to #6 on the ARIA charts. The Duk’s next release, ‘Say My Name’, went gold in Australia.
Peking Duk’s single – ‘Stranger’ with Swedish cool girl Elliphant – won the Apple Music Song of the Year award at the 2017 ARIA Awards. It’s clocked up over 30 million plays on Spotify, gone triple platinum, been put on high rotation at every major radio station in the country and cracked the top ten of the 2016 Hottest 100. How’s that for a track record?
2017 also saw Peking Duk team up with UK duo AlunaGeorge for ‘Fake Magic’ and their latest single ‘Let You Down’ feat. Icona Pop which both have followed in it’s predecessors footsteps, hitting #1 on the ARIA Australian Artist Chart’s and hitting platinum accreditation.
But it’s not just the studio the boys know their way around. Their live show will leave you sweat-soaked, champagne-sprayed and picking bits of confetti out of your hair for days, a deliriously fun spectacle that’s already earned them headline slots at Aussie mega-festivals Splendour in the Grass and Stereosonic.
They’ve also sold out no less than three separate Australian headline tours and played at North American festivals like Lollapalooza, Coachella, HARD Summer, Electric Zoo and TomorrowWorld. February 2017 saw the pair tick off another 13 packed-out shows on their tour of the U.S. and Canada.
The best bit? With a debut album around the corner, Peking Duk’s domination isn’t done yet.
